Charleston, SC In an exciting collaboration aimed at promoting drone safety, Middletown Public Schools joined forces with Revilla Films to shoot a new episode for their 19-episode series in partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The team traveled to Charleston International Airport, where students and educators engaged in hands-on learning experiences that highlighted the real-world applications of aviation technology.

Accompanying the crew was Middletown High School aerospace teacher, Paul Pelletier, and aspiring pilot Delilah Van Ness, a dedicated aerospace student. The highlight of the day came when Delilah, under Mr. Pelletier’s expert guidance, took to the skies in a Diamond DA42 aircraft, made accessible through CRAFT Flight Training & Simulation. With a mixture of excitement and determination, she successfully executed both takeoff and landing, marking a significant milestone in her journey to becoming a pilot.

"This experience is invaluable for our students," said Pelletier. "It’s one thing to learn about aerospace in the classroom, but to actually fly a plane is something that brings those lessons to life. Delilah has shown tremendous promise, and this opportunity will only fuel her passion."
