MuvliMax to Premiere “A Latino Dream Built in Connecticut,” Telling the Story of a Colombian Coffee Entrepreneur

Updated: Sep 8

Bristol, CT — August 22, 2026 — MuvliMax, Revilla Films’ streaming platform and a Spanish-language digital channel featuring exclusive programming and original productions, will premiere its latest documentary, “A Latino Dream Built in Connecticut,” on Tuesday, September 1, at 6:00 p.m. on the MuvliMax YouTube channel.
The documentary tells the inspiring story of a Colombian entrepreneur in Connecticut who has built two successful coffee shops while staying connected to his roots and Colombian coffee traditions.
From the green mountains of Colombia, where some of the world’s most appreciated coffee is grown, to a small workshop filled with dreams and the aroma of freshly roasted coffee, the documentary follows a journey driven by passion, perseverance and innovation.

At the center of the story is Eduardo Garcés, a Colombian coffee entrepreneur who decided to go beyond the conventional. Rather than simply bringing Colombian coffee to Connecticut, Garcés took his passion a step further, building his own unique coffee roaster and developing a business rooted in his cultural heritage.
The documentary also highlights the challenges Garcés faced while growing his business and turning his passion for Colombian coffee into a larger venture.
“Scaling a company’s product was one of the biggest challenges. My aunt told me, ‘You killed the tiger and then got scared by its skin,’” said Eduardo Garcés.
For Garcés, every coffee bean represents a connection to the mountains, the hard work of the people who cultivate it and the pride he carries for his Colombian heritage. His journey to Connecticut is also a story of bringing that identity with him and sharing it with others through coffee.
“A Latino Dream Built in Connecticut” highlights the challenges, sacrifices and triumphs behind his entrepreneurial journey, while exploring what it means to build a successful business without losing sight of where you come from.
The documentary also showcases Garcés’ determination to innovate in an industry traditionally dominated by large companies. His decision to construct his own coffee roaster is presented as a reflection of the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit that helped shape his path.
Director Luis G. Revilla says the documentary reflects MuvliMax’s commitment to telling stories that celebrate the Latino community in Connecticut and the people whose journeys often go beyond the headlines.
“There are so many incredible Latino stories being built right here in Connecticut, and we believe those stories deserve to be seen and heard. This documentary is not only about coffee—it is about perseverance, identity, entrepreneurship and the courage to build a dream in a new place. The film also could not have been better without the investigation and hosting of Cathy Montano, whose work helped us uncover the heart of Eduardo’s story and bring it to our audience in a meaningful way,” said Revilla.
Revilla also highlighted Montano’s role in developing the story, from the investigative process to her work as the documentary’s host, helping guide viewers through Garcés’ journey and the deeper meaning behind his entrepreneurial success.
Through MuvliMax’s storytelling, viewers will discover how one immigrant entrepreneur transformed his passion for Colombian coffee into a growing Connecticut business—and how a dream rooted in Colombia found a new home in New England.
